The Global Settings Panel
While the Campaign Builder controls the look and behaviour of an individual wheel, the Global Settings panel holds the site-wide controls that apply across every campaign in Ultimate Spin Wheel. This is where you manage lead-stage labels, marketing integrations, the winner email template, security blocks, and data-retention preferences.
Open it from Spin Wheel → Settings in the WordPress admin. The panel is organised into five tabs: Labels, Integrations, Email, Security, and General. Some tabs are free, and some are marked (Pro) below — Pro features live in the separate Ultimate Spin Wheel Pro plugin.
Labels: Lead Pipeline Stages
The plugin ships with a built-in Leads dashboard that organises captured leads into pipeline stages. The Labels tab lets you rename those stages to match your workflow. Out of the box the stages are:
- New — a freshly captured lead.
- Follow-up — a lead you plan to contact.
- Purchased — a lead that converted.
- Archived — a lead set aside.
- Trash — a protected system stage that cannot be renamed freely and is reserved for discarded leads.
Architecture note: editing a label only changes the visible display name. The underlying stage ID (for example new, followup, trash) stays constant so your existing lead data is never orphaned.
Integrations (Pro)
The Integrations tab connects captured leads to third-party marketing tools. These integrations are part of Ultimate Spin Wheel Pro — in the free plugin the tab and its cards are shown with a Pro badge. Whatever your integration status, every lead is always stored locally in your WordPress database, so nothing is lost if an external service is unavailable.
- Mailchimp (Pro): paste your Mailchimp API key and an Audience / List ID, then toggle the integration on to push new leads to that audience.
- Zapier (Pro): paste a Zapier “Catch Hook” webhook URL. Lead data is sent to that URL so you can route it into any of the apps Zapier supports.
- MailPoet (Pro): because MailPoet runs inside WordPress, no API key is needed — just pick (or fetch) a MailPoet list and new leads are added to it.
- AI Assistant (Pro): choose a provider (OpenAI or OpenRouter) and paste an API key to unlock AI-assisted content help inside the campaign builder.
The tab also includes a Delivery Logs area for monitoring integration sync status and retrying failed deliveries. Additional CRM and email platforms (Klaviyo, ActiveCampaign, HubSpot, Pabbly, and more) are available in Pro.
Email: Winner Coupon Template (Pro)
Winners can receive their coupon code by email — this delivery works in the free plugin. The Email tab, however, lets you replace the default coupon email with your own custom HTML template, which is a Pro feature (the enable toggle is locked in the free plugin).
- HTML editor: paste your own responsive email HTML, or load the built-in starter template to begin.
- Live preview: a side-by-side iframe renders your template with sample data so you can see the result before saving.
- Placeholders: the editor supports these dynamic tags —
{{site_name}},{{site_url}},{{coupon_title}}, and{{coupon_code}}. Click any tag in the panel to copy it.
For the widest email-client compatibility, use inline CSS, table-based layouts, and avoid JavaScript.
Security: Blocking & Fraud Prevention
The Security tab helps you keep spins fair and your lead list clean.
IP & Device Blocking
- Manual IP block (Free): enter an IP address to block it. Blocked visitors can no longer see or interact with the spin wheel.
- Blocked lists: the tab shows current Blocked IP Addresses and Blocked Device IDs, each with an unblock action. Managing these lists is free.
- Device fingerprinting (Pro): automatic device identification — which recognises a returning device even after an IP change — is a Pro capability. In the free plugin you can still manually block a device ID that appears in the list.
Disposable Email Blocking (Free)
Toggle on Disposable Email Blocking to reject leads that sign up with temporary “trash” email providers (Mailinator, Guerrilla Mail, 10MinuteMail, and similar). The plugin checks each submitted address against a bundled local list of 100+ known disposable domains, so no external service is required. You can also set a custom message shown to anyone who tries to spin with a blocked address. This feature runs in the free plugin.
General: Data & Consent
- Data Retention (Days): set how long lead data is kept before automatic cleanup (from 30 up to 3650 days; the default is 365). Use this to keep your database lean and support your GDPR data-minimisation policy.
- Email Notifications: toggle admin email alerts for new leads on or off.
- GDPR Compliance (Free): enable a consent checkbox on your lead form, set its label text, and choose whether checking it is required before a visitor can submit. This helps keep your lead capture legally sound.
Saving Your Changes
Settings on every tab are saved together with the Save Settings button at the top of the panel. Changes apply site-wide as soon as they are saved.
