Win Screen Customization: The Moment of Glory

Designing the Win Screen for Conversion

The user has spun and won. Now what? The win screen is where the conversion actually happens. In Ultimate Spin Wheel, the winning state replaces the wheel as soon as the server confirms the result — it shows the prize, the coupon code, and a call-to-action button. This guide covers exactly which fields you can edit, where they live in the campaign builder, and how the copy-and-redirect behavior works so you can turn a spin into a sale.

Where to Edit the Win Screen

Win-screen settings are split across three tabs of the campaign builder:

  • Content tab → Winning State: the Win Title, Win Message, and Win Button Text.
  • Design tab → Popup: background color and background image (free). Confetti and celebration sound live here too but are Pro features.
  • Behavior tab → Outcome & Prize Delivery: the Redirect URL the win button sends people to, plus email-only delivery and auto-apply (Pro).

The Core Elements

A. The Win Title

  • Default: “Congratulations!”
  • Optimization: Make it feel earned. A short, punchy title sets the celebratory tone before the message and code load.

B. The Win Message

  • Default: “You won a {{discount_label}} discount!”
  • Dynamic label: Use the {{discount_label}} placeholder anywhere in the Win Message and the plugin swaps in the winning slice’s label (for example “20% Off”). This is the only supported token.
  • Fine print: There is no separate disclaimer field. Because the Win Message is rendered as HTML, you can add terms directly in it — for example a smaller line reading “Valid for 24 hours. Cannot be combined with other offers.” — to build trust and cut support tickets.

C. The Coupon Code Box

  • Click to copy: The coupon box is copy-enabled out of the box. When a visitor clicks it, the code is copied to the clipboard and the label briefly changes to “Copied!” for two seconds before reverting — instant feedback, no configuration needed.
  • Automatically hidden when empty: If a winning slice has no code (or you use email-only delivery), the box does not render, so users never see an empty box.
  • Security: Unique coupon codes are never printed in the page source ahead of a win — the real code is returned only after the server confirms the result.

D. The Call-to-Action Button

  • Label: Set it in Win Button Text (default “Start Shopping!”). Try “Shop Now & Save” or “Use Coupon Now.” Leave the field empty to hide the button entirely.
  • Where it sends people: Set a Redirect URL in the Behavior tab (for example /shop). This is a single, global destination for all winners — it is not a per-slice link. When the visitor clicks the win button, the popup closes and they are sent there.
  • Coupon carried along: The plugin appends the won code to the redirect as uspw_coupon=CODE, so your landing page can read it. You can add your own UTM parameters to the URL as well.
  • Always closes the popup: Clicking the win button dismisses the popup before redirecting, removing the barrier between the user and your products. If no Redirect URL is set, the button simply closes the popup.

Background & Atmosphere

You can make the popup feel celebratory from the Design tab → Popup section:

  • Background color and an optional background image are free. A celebratory image (balloons, fireworks) reinforces the win.
  • Confetti and a celebration sound on win are (Pro) features. In the free plugin the win screen is silent and confetti-free.
  • The popup and its winning/losing states share the same background — there is not a separate background just for the win screen.

“Already Played” and Error States

The plugin does not expose a bank of editable error messages for “offline” or “invalid email” — network errors show a fixed system message. The one message you can customize is the “already played” notice:

  • Already Played message: Edit it under the campaign’s spin-restriction settings (default “You have already played this campaign!”). It appears when a returning visitor is blocked from spinning again.
  • Losing State: If you run a Lose (No Prize) slice (Pro), the Lose Title, Lose Message, and Lose Button Text in the Content tab control what a non-winner sees.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I show a video or extra HTML on the win screen?

Yes — the Win Message is rendered as HTML, so you can embed an iframe or video tag inside it. Be mindful of sizing, since the popup has a fixed maximum width you set in the Design tab.

Does the win button track conversions?

Add UTM parameters to your Redirect URL (for example myshop.com/sale?utm_source=spinwheel_winner). The plugin will still append uspw_coupon after your parameters, so you can attribute revenue in your analytics tool.

Can I hide the code on screen and only email it?

Yes. In the Behavior tab, enable “Enable Email-only Coupons.” The coupon code is then sent by email (email marketing integrations are Pro, but basic coupon email delivery is free) and the popup shows your success message instead of the code. This hides the code, not the wheel. Showing the code immediately usually converts better than forcing people to check their inbox.

Is there a social-share button on the win screen?

No. Ultimate Spin Wheel does not add Facebook, X, or WhatsApp share buttons to the win screen. If you want that, add your own share links inside the Win Message HTML.

Conclusion

The win screen is your victory lap: a clear title, a message with the dynamic {{discount_label}}, a copy-to-clipboard coupon box, and a call-to-action button that closes the popup and sends winners straight to your shop with the code attached. Keep the code prominent, the button labeled for action, and the fine print honest. If you need help, visit the wowDevs support center.
