Getting Optimization Tips using AI
Most analytics tools are passive — they tell you what happened (“You got 50 leads”) and leave the interpretation to you. The AI Assistant in Ultimate Spin Wheel is designed to be active: you ask questions about your campaign data in plain English, and it responds with actionable optimization tips. This guide shows the kinds of questions worth asking and how to act on the answers.
Note: The AI Assistant is a Pro feature (part of the separate Ultimate Spin Wheel Pro plugin). It analyzes the campaign and lead data the plugin already records and runs on your own OpenAI or OpenRouter API key. The example insights below are illustrative — your results depend on your own data and volume.
1. Prize Optimization (The “Dead Weight” Audit)
A common mistake is keeping prizes on the wheel that nobody values, or giving away margin that never drives a sale. Ask the AI to find them.
Prompt: “Which prizes are being won but rarely converting?”
Example insight: “The ‘Free Sticker’ slice was won 500 times but drove very few claims or follow-up sales.” If a prize wins often yet produces little engagement, it is “dead weight” — it clutters the wheel and dilutes excitement for real prizes. Consider replacing it with an offer people act on, such as Free Shipping.
Prompt: “Is my ‘50% Off’ coupon worth the margin?”
Strategy: If a heavy discount drives volume but low-value orders, protect your margin at the coupon level in WooCommerce — for example, add a Minimum Spend rule (“50% off on orders over $100”). You can also lower that slice’s probability so the discount is won less often. See Win Probabilities for how to weight slices.
2. Timing Optimization (The “Golden Hour”)
The plugin timestamps every spin and lead, so the AI can surface when your audience is most active.
Prompt: “What time of day gets the most spins?”
Example result: “You have a spike in activity between 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM.” You can act on a finding like this by scheduling email sends and ad spend to land just before the window, and — during those hours — using a more aggressive popup trigger such as Instant (shown immediately on page load) to capture attention while engagement is high.
Prompt: “Which day of the week converts best?”
Action: If one day generates a disproportionate share of your leads, save your biggest offers for it and avoid disruptive changes on that day.
3. Copywriting & Creative Help
The AI Assistant is also a creative partner. Because it runs on a general-purpose language model, you can ask it to draft campaign copy.
Prompt: “Write 5 catchy headlines for a Valentine’s Day spin wheel.”
- “Spin Your Way to a Date Night!”
- “Love is in the Air… and so are Savings!”
- “Don’t Break My Heart — Spin to Win!”
- “Will You Be Our Valentine? (And take 20% off?)”
- “Cupid’s Arrow Landed on a Prize!”
Drafts like these save you the blank-page problem, and you can test two options against each other to see which resonates.
4. Behavioral Tuning (Low Interaction Rates)
Sometimes the problem is not the prize — it is the settings. If your popup is shown far more often than it is used, the AI can point at likely causes.
Prompt: “Why is my interaction rate so low?”
Example diagnosis: “You have 1,000 impressions but only 10 spins — a 1% interaction rate. Users are likely closing the popup before engaging with it.”
Prescription: A common fix is to stop interrupting visitors the instant they arrive. Instead of showing the popup immediately, switch the show trigger to Delayed and give it a few seconds so people can read your page first. If you are using the Exit or On Scroll triggers (Pro), an overly sensitive trigger can also fire before visitors are ready — ease it back or move to a Delayed trigger.
Ultimate Spin Wheel’s free show triggers are None, Instant, and Delayed; On Scroll and Exit are Pro triggers.

Conclusion
The AI Assistant (Pro) turns the campaign and lead data you already collect into concrete next steps — which prizes to cut, when to reach your audience, and which settings are costing you interactions. Ask specific questions, act on the tips, and let the numbers guide your changes. To get started, add your API key in AI Setup & Configuration, or visit the wowDevs support center for help.
