License Activation: Unlock the Full Potential

Why Activate Your Pro License?

Thank you for purchasing the Premium version of the WordPress Spin Wheel. While the free version is powerful, your Pro license is the key that unlocks advanced capabilities like Email Marketing Automation, integrations, and premium design themes.

To Unlock Premium Features, you must effectuate a valid Software Activation. This process verifies your purchase and connects your website to our update server, ensuring you always have the latest security patches and features.

This guide will walk you through the simple process of finding your WordPress Plugin License Key and activating it on your site.

1. Where to Find Your License Key

Your license key is a unique string that acts as your proof of ownership.

Option A: The Purchase Receipt Email

Immediately after your purchase, you received an email with the subject line “Your Order Receipt & License Key.”

  • Search your inbox (and spam folder) for this email.
  • The key will be listed in a box labeled “License Keys.”

Option B: The Customer Portal

If you cannot find the email, you can always retrieve your key from our website.

  1. Log in to your account at WowDevs My Account.
  2. Navigate to the “Licenses” tab.
  3. Click on the “Manage” button next to your Spin Wheel purchase.
  4. Copy the alphanumeric key to your clipboard.

2. How to Activate the License

Once you have your key, follow these steps to Activate Pro License on your WordPress dashboard.

  1. Install the Pro Plugin: Ensure you have installed and activated the ultimate-spin-wheel-pro.zip file. (See the Installation Guide if you haven’t done this yet).
  2. Navigate to Settings: Go to Spin Wheel > Settings.
  3. Find the License Tab: Click on the tab labeled “License” at the far right of the settings panel.
  4. Enter the Key: Paste your key into the “License Key” input field.
  5. Activate: Click the “Activate License” button.
  6. Success: You should see a green “Active” status badge appear. Additional Pro features (like the Mailchimp integration) will now be unblocked.

3. Software Activation Troubleshooting

Sometimes, things don’t go as planned. Here are the most common Software Activation Troubleshooting scenarios.

Error: “Invalid License Key”

  • Cause: You may have copied an extra space at the beginning or end of the key.
  • Fix: Paste the key into a text editor (like Notepad) first to ensure there are no hidden characters, then copy it again.
  • Cause: You might be trying to use a “Spin Wheel” key for a different product. Verify the product name in your account.

Error: “Connection Failed” or “cURL Error”

  • Cause: Your web hosting server is blocking outgoing connections to our licensing server (licenses.wowdevs.com).
  • Fix: Contact your hosting support and ask them to “Whitelist outgoing request to licenses.wowdevs.com.” This is a common security setting on some managed hosts.

Error: “No Activations Left”

  • Cause: You have reached the limit of your plan (e.g., you bought a “Single Site” license but are trying to activate it on a second website).
  • Fix: You must either upgrade your license to a “5-Site Plan” or deactivate the license on the old site first.

4. License Management: Moving Limits

What if you built the site on a staging server (dev.mysite.com) and now want to go live at (mysite.com)?

Deactivating a License

To move a license, you must first free up the slot.

  1. Go to Spin Wheel > Settings > License on the old site.
  2. Click the “Deactivate” button.
  3. The status will change to “Inactive.”
  4. You can now use that key on the new website.

Remote Deactivation

If you deleted the old website without deactivating the key, don’t worry.

  1. Log in to the WowDevs Account Portal.
  2. Go to “Manage Sites.”
  3. Find the old URL in the list and click “Deactivate Site.” This remotely effectively kills the key on that installation, freeing up your slot.

5. Renewals and Expiry

Your license is valid for one year from the date of purchase.

  • Active Subscription: As long as your subscription is active, your specific WordPress Plugin License Key will renew automatically.
  • Expired License: If your license expires, the plugin will continue to work. Your existing wheels will still spin, and you will still collect leads. However, you will lose access to security updates, new features (like new themes), and priority support.
  • Recommendation: Keep auto-renew enabled to ensure your site remains secure against future WordPress core updates.
