Configuring the Winner’s Journey
The Behavior tab determines what happens immediately after a user wins a prize. While the “Design” tab controls the look, and the “Coupons” tab controls the value, the Behavior tab controls the User Flow.
This is the critical “hand-off” point where a casual visitor becomes a lead (and hopefully a customer). You have two main strategies here: Instant Gratification (Sales focus) or Verified Delivery (Quality focus).
1. Outcome & Prize Delivery
This section manages the frictionless transition from “Winner” to “Shopper”.
A. Redirect URL (Global Redirect)
- The Feature: You can enter a single URL (e.g.,
https://myshop.com/summer-sale) that the user will be redirected to after they click the “Claim Prize” button. - Strategy:
- Sales Page: Redirect winners to a specific landing page listing all the products eligible for the coupon.
- Thank You Page: Redirect to a custom “Thank You” page with instructions on how to use the code.
- User Experience: The redirect happens after the win animation completes and the user acknowledges their prize. It effectively pushes traffic deeper into your site.
- Note: This is a global setting. It applies to all winning slices.
B. Auto-Apply Coupon
- Status: Pro Feature ⚡
- The Problem: Friction. A user wins a code (
SAVE10), copies it, browses your shop, adds an item to cart, goes to checkout, and forgets to paste the code. They get frustrated and leave. - The Solution: When Auto-Apply is enabled, the plugin automatically injects the winning coupon code directly into the user’s WooCommerce session.
- The Result:
- User wins.
- User sees a toast notification: “Coupon Applied!”.
- User adds an item to cart.
- User goes to checkout -> The discount is already there.
- Impact: This single feature can increase coupon redemption rates by 20-30% because it removes the manual step of copy-pasting.
2. Email Verification (Lead Delivery)
This section allows you to switch from “Instant Win” to “Double Opt-In”.
A. Enable Email-only Coupons
- The Switch: By default, the code is shown on the screen (Instant). If you toggle “Enable Email-only Coupons” to YES, the code is HIDDEN from the popup.
- The Flow:
- User enters email & spins.
- User wins.
- Popup: Shows a “Success Message” (see below) instead of the code.
- Email: The plugin sends the code to their inbox.
- Why use this?
- Quality Control: It forces the user to enter a real email address. If they enter
[email protected], they never get the prize. - List Hygiene: This guarantees that 100% of your leads are accessible inboxes.
- Quality Control: It forces the user to enter a real email address. If they enter
B. Success Alert Message
- Customization: When “Email-only” is active, you need to tell the user what to do.
- Default: “Check your email for the coupon code!”
- Recommended Copy:
- “Congrats! We just sent your 20% OFF code to your inbox. Go check it now!”
- (This prompts them to leave the site and open their email app, which confirms the lead).
3. Creating Your Strategy
Which behavior should you choose?
Strategy A: The “E-Commerce Accelerator”
- Goal: Maximum Sales Now.
- Settings:
- Auto-Apply: ON.
- Email-only: OFF.
- Redirect: To your “Best Sellers” page.
- Why: You want to remove all friction. Let them win, apply the discount, and shop immediately. You don’t care if the email is fake; you care if the credit card is real.
Strategy B: The “Lead Quality Guardian”
- Goal: Build a High-Value Email List.
- Settings:
- Auto-Apply: OFF.
- Email-only: ON.
- Redirect: Leave empty (keep them on the page).
- Why: You are playing the long game. You accept fewer leads, but every single lead is a verified human who can open emails. You will market to them over the next 6 months.
4. Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I redirect to different pages for different prizes?
A: Currently, the Redirect URL is global (one link for the entire campaign). Per-prize redirects are on our roadmap.
Q: Does Auto-Apply work with Guests?
A: Yes! It uses the standard WooCommerce session cookies, so it works for guest checkout users as well as logged-in members.
Q: Where do I change the text for the “Claim Prize” button?
A: That is a visual setting found in the Design tab (under Buttons), not the Behavior tab. The Behavior tab controls the action of the button, not the label.
Conclusion
The Behavior Panel is small but mighty. It is the switchboard that directs your traffic.
- Use Auto-Apply to boost revenue.
- Use Email Verification to boost list quality.
- Use Redirects to boost page views.
Choose the path that aligns with your current business goal.
